Novi Sad hosted the third presentation of the public call

On June 10, 2015, the third presentation of the Public Call for Grants for the construction of biomass/biogas fired combined heat and power (CHP) facilities took place in Novi Sad, at the premises of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina. Thanks to this presentation, the interested investors and the representatives of relevant institutions got familiar with its goal, model, conditions and the results it should lead to.

After Mr. Jovan Vujicić welcomed the attendees, Ms Maja Matejić, Energy Portfolio Manager of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Manager of the Project „Reducing Barriers to accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia“ presented the Project she manages, and later presented the Public Call framework and details, position of investors, role of banks, and the conditions for applicants. Mr Rastislav Kragić, the Advisor in the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia which implements the Public Call, joined her in the presentation and in answering numerous questions of the representatives of the companies, cooperatives and banks.

The Public Call information and documents can be found at the internet presentations of the the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia (http://www.mre.gov.rs/energetska-efikasnost-obnovljivi-izvori.php#a54) and the Project site, on the link (http://biomasa.undp.org.rs). This Public Call, open from May 8 to October 15, 2015, was announced by the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia in order to support the investors to construct up to eight biomass/biogas CHP facilities. The funding for the realisation of the Call in the total value of 1.6 million USD is provided by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the Project „Reducing Barriers to accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia“. Individual grants per project will make up to 15% of its investment value, or the maximum of 266,000 USD, as long as the total project invertment value exceeds 1,200,000 USD.
