The sixth presentation of the public call for grants held in Čačak

On June 29, 2015, the sixth presentation of the Public Call for Grants for the construction of biomass/biogas fired combined heat and power (CHP) facilities was organised in the City of Čačak Administration, and with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Kraljevo (CCK) and its Čačak unit.
Mr Dragan Nikolić, Assistant Mayor for economic development and environmental protection of the City of Čačak, opened this event and welcomed the guests and the attendees. His overview was followed by the presentation of the Public Call, its conditions, purpose and technical details. The representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Slobodan Cvetković, Head of the Group for Sustainable Use of Resources of the, and Mr Predrag Milanović, Advisor in the Sector for Renewable Respurces, gave insight into the purpose of this initiative and its expected outcomes. Ms Maja Matejić, Energy Portfolio Manager of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Manager of the Project „Reducing Barriers to accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia“ first presented the details of the Public Call, and later answered the questions of the interested companies, cooperatives and individuals that attended the event along with her colleagues from the Ministry.
The presentation was attended by 25 representatives of private and public sector who got familiar with the Call, its goal, model, conditions and the results it should lead to.
The Public Call announced by the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia in order to support the investpors to construct up to eight biomass/biogas CHP facilities will be opened until October 15, 2015. The funding for the realisation of the Call in the total value of 1.6 million USD is provided by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the Project „Reducing Barriers to accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia“.
