Instructions for applying for the Public Call for grants for the construction of biomass/biogass fired CHP plants available for interested investors

As the Public Call for Grants for the construction of biomass/biogas fired combined heat and power (CHP) facilities approaches its deadline, due at October 15, 2015, the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia announced the Technical Instructions for all the investors interested to apply.

The instructions have been prepared in order to help the candidates to fill in all the forms of the Call, provide guidelines for appropriate preparation and harmonise the data with the Call documents so that their applications are evaluated in the most efficient manner.

This document covers each part of the application and provide the explanation for the simple mandatory fields, such as the data about the applicant, but also contain a series of reccommendations and several tables with referrent technical data which should indicate the expected values in the process of application assessment.

The Public Call for Grants for the construction of biomass/biogas fired CHP facilities was launced on May 8, lasts until October 15, 2015, and is open for the companies, cooperatives and physical persons performing the registered economic activity (entrepreneurs and agricultural estates).

The Call is a common endeavour of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support the investors to construct up to eight biomass/biogas CHP facilities, realised through the Project „Reducing Barriers to Accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia“.

The funding for the realisation of the Call in the total value of 1.6 million USD is provided by the Global Environment Fund (GEF). Individual grants per project will make up to 15% of its investment value, or the maximum of 266,000 USD, as long as the total project investment value exceeds 1,200,000 USD.
