Promotion of the web-portal ”Green Energy“

Solemn promotion of the web portal „Green Energy“ was held on Monday, 10 April, in the large auditorium of Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The web portal „Green Energy“ has been realized within the project „Reducing Barriers to Accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia“, financed from the Global Environmental Fund (GEF) where Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry participates as a partner, and which is implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.
The promotion was attended by representatives of competent institutions of the Republic of Serbia, UNDP, numerous international organizations and entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of professional public and media.
Mr Miroslav Miletić, SCCI Vice-president, ceremonially put the portal into operation. On this occasion, he said that the portal is an innovative Internet platform unequalled in this part of Europe, which is aimed at stimulating the market of products and services in the area of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. As such, the portal is yet another one in the range of digital electronic services of Serbian Chamber of commerce.
Mr Žarko Petrović, UNDP representative, emphasized that UNDP strongly supports Serbia in reaching the goal 27% of energy from renewable sources in the gross final consumption, which is the obligation Serbia accepted as a member of the Energy Sommunity of Southeast Europe. As a development agency with vast experience in this area, UNDP provides its concrete contribution through projects which are currently implemented in Serbia in cooperation with competent institutions.
Professor Miloš Banjac PhD, Assistant minister of mining and energy and National director of the project „ Reducing Barriers to Accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia “ presented the results of the project so far and explained the purpose, concept, and functions of the portal „Green Energy“ and the application for e-trading in biomass.
The web-portal „Green Energy“ is a dynamic, vertically organized news portal intended to inform professional and broader audience on all topics in relation to renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, advertising of companies and entrepreneurs operating in the area of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, and e-trading in various types of biomass. The application for e-trading in biomass is especially important as it will meet numerous needs of buyers, i.e. suppliers of biomass in Serbia and the region, such as: increasing of supply and demand, unification of supply and demand (by sort, type, product, packaging, etc.), standardization of the quality of supply and demand, greater speed of purchase/sale, reducing of the need for stocks, and development of a competitive market with the possibility of selection among different suppliers, i.e. buyers in the country and the region. All interested parties have free access to the portal, while access to the application for e-trading calls for registration.
The application, i.e. special software for e-trading, facilitates product quotation and ordering, accepting of offers, closing of sales, definition of details relating to delivery, etc. Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will have the role of a market organizer.
