10Project “Reducing Barriers to Accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia” Presented to the Energy Community
Results of the UNDP/GEF Project “Reducing Barriers to Accelerate the Development of Biomass Markets in Serbia” were presented at the 5th meeting of the Energy Community RES Coordination Group. The meeting was held on 22 March in the Energy Community premises in Vienna. The project presentation was delivered by Maja Matejić, project manager and energy portfolio manager with UNDP.
Results in achievement of the 2020 Objectives in relation to participation of renewable energy sources in gross final consumption of member states were discussed at the meeting, as well as global trends for 2030. Guidelines for introduction of competitive processes (auctions) in allocation of incentives to producers of energy from renewable were also presented, as well as guidelines for technical and accounting integration of so-called “prosumers” (producers/consumers) in the electric power distribution network.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Energy Community, as well as competent international ministries and regulatory bodies, representatives of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), representatives of international financial institutions, and donors.
